Postcards

My current work involves research which encompasses the connections between art and neuroscience and tries to offer some non-scientific explanations to explain and help diagnose and treat some of the mysteries of conditions on the autism spectrum. It is like a journey through a labyrinth both of art and of the mind. On any journey of significance, one needs to make notes of activities and record where one has been. The Victorians used the medium of postcards. Although addressed to someone, one never knows exactly who has read it and even if the recipient has received it.

I have an interest in to gain an insight and to understand further what is or maybe happening in our minds and bodies when we engage in an artistic activity - taking a photograph, drawing, painting, sketching, writing a poem or story, composing and playing music, making a sculpture or thinking about all those activities when performing other routine daily activites or watching or listening to the work of others.

I experiment with different types of photographic devices from different periods of time. Each device brings its own quality to the resulting image.
